An extended cable-knit scarf in orange and black, smooth surfaced, two-fold merino wool yarns. Unlike traditional cable knitting techniques which use a plain jersey base with added decorative stitches, the permuted technique presented here uses only the cabled elements, producing a unique broken stripe effect. Based on the pattern used for a sweater sleeve panel, the resulting two layers offer excellent insulation and a tidy, fully encased finish.
